TRACK

Pacific's track squad started off the year in high-riding fashion and, at the time of this writing, were as yet undefeated in dual meets with a record of two wins and one tie.

At the first of the season several members of the sqad participated at the Willamette relays, but not exceptional times or distances were turned in by the squad.

In the first dual meet of the year the Badgers beat Oregon College of Education, 67-64. It was in this meet the Don Adams, freshman from LaGrande, first started to show what a scoring threat he was as he racked up sixteen points with three firsts and a third. He has continued to score well throughout the season with consistent places in the broad jump, high jump, discus and javelin.

In their second dual meet the Pacific squad tied a highly regarded Portland University team, 65 1/2-65 1/2. In this meet, as in the others, Bob Gatyas and Bill Roff, both juniours dominate the sprint events and Gary Hartramph, sophmore and Ron Craig, senior, consistently too the hurdle completition.

The Badgers opened league competition with a 66-65 win over Linfield on the Wildcat track. It was much the same as the other meets with the Pacific squad dominating the field events but placing comparatively weak in the running events.

Two freshmen pole-vaulters, Jack Jossi and Bob Richmond have taken first and second places in every meet so far in that event. Richmond's besh height thus far is 12-3 while Jossi's is 11-8. Two other freshment, Whitney Roe in the middle distances, and Doug Crawford in the sprints showed lots of promise.

At this writing the Badgers had two dual meets left with Willamette and Lewis and Clark and a three way meet with Portland University and Linfield. Following that the conference meet will be held at Willamette.
