TRACK

Handicapped by lack if intrants in the long distances, the Badger track and field squad had met Linfield and lost to Willamette and Lewis and Clark at this writing. Still the squad had been slow in getting into shape and Coach Harvey Roloff expected an improved showing.

The Badge squad had its nucleus in six lettermen, three of them weightmen, three sprinters and one field specialist. Louis Holzgang, Al Goretzen and Dick Young, all had something to offer in the discus and shot put. Then George Stewart (who seriously twisted his ankle and Jerry Mills were top quarter-mile-and-under sprinters. Team Captain Tink Hatfield, was an outstanding vaulter and broad jumper.

In addition Roloff had some top preforming freshmen who hel out bright cinder hopes in the Badger future.
